It is a holy mountain with his ancient monastery and historic chapels, important for many faiths but also reveals stunning scenery with stark contrast of desert and mountain.
Gebel Musa between the Sinai mountains is a magic spot to enjoy the sunrise . Our tour retraces the footsteps of Moses when he climbed to receive the 10 Commandments. On the descent we will visit St. Catherine's Monastery, built between 527 and 565 A.D, it is believed to have been built around the site of Moses' Burning Bush. Visit to the chapel of the Greek Orthodox church to see famous icons and the Mosaic of Transfiguration.
- Pick up by A/C van or bus from your hotel around 21.00hrs, the trip from Sharm El Sheikh (230km) is closer to 3 hours.
- A Bedouin guide will escort you to the top of the Mount Musa, at 2,285 m (7,497 ft) it raises high above the St. Catherine monastery where you will attend a spectacular sunrise: the amazing colors, and more important, the peace and the quiet of this experience will let you forget the fatigue of the arduos climb . We will descend to the Monastery in the morning.
- We will descend via the Stairs of Repentance, this way is shorter but more difficult, and there are around 3750 steps.
